On June 29th, the Guizhou Jarwin New Energy Smart Industrial Base Project, a major project in Baiyun District, officially commenced production.
The Guizhou Jarwin New Energy Smart Base Project is being developed by Guizhou Jarwin Technology Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 4 billion RMB. The facility will produce new energy storage batteries and high-rate batteries for various industries, including electric vehicles, power tower energy storage, drones, and household energy storage. The project is being constructed in two phases. The first phase, with an investment of 800 million RMB, covers over 40,000 square meters of standard factory space and includes four lithium-ion battery production lines. Once fully operational, the first phase is expected to have an annual production capacity of 1 GWh and generate an annual output value of over 800 million RMB, creating more than 400 jobs.
In the production workshop, reporters observed more than ten major process areas, including mixing, coating, cutting, die-cutting, stacking, injection, formation, and capacity grading, along with over 30 smaller sub-processes. Currently, one production line is in operation, with the remaining three expected to be operational in the second half of this year.
To ensure the smooth construction and production of the project, Baiyun District established a special task force led by the district's top officials to coordinate the project’s development since its signing in October of last year. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, the project began interior construction on March 9th. The task force facilitated progress by conducting on-site inspections, coordinating online through WeChat groups, and promptly addressing issues faced by the company. Thanks to these efforts, the factory renovation was completed by mid-April, equipment installation began in late April, power testing was conducted in mid-May, and trial production commenced on June 24th.
It is reported that, in line with the strategic cooperation agreement, the second phase of the Jarwin New Energy Smart Base project will be initiated within this year. The second phase, with a proposed investment of 3.2 billion RMB, will be located on the south side of Guanyun Avenue in the Maijia area of Baiyun District.
